![]() ![]() ![]() As if our world, our beautiful planet with its vast and incomprehensible cosmos is an unimportant, insignificant, sad little puppy lost from the rest of its litter. Maybe it's the way that it's so arrogant and dismissive of the reality that we live in? As if the Bard should be but a shadow of whatever-his-name is from the second dominion (though of course, the Barker is a wholly new and unprecedented creative and artistic force). I don't know what it is that rubs me the wrong way about this book. But I'm about 7% of the way through (to be fair, that's probably around 70 pages!), and I'm not enjoying it. I picked this book up because, quite simply, people who've read it seem to like it a lot. Sorry if this is all boilerplate and unneccessary but I did want to get it out of the way. I'm new to posting in this subreddit and the last thing I want to do is to give people the idea that I think they're wrong and stupid. And, please understand, as absurd as it may be to have to say this, I'm absolutely not looking to argue with people who've enjoyed this book. I was hesitant to post this because this book seems to be almost universally loved by its readership (insofar as 'universally' can apply to any readership.). ![]()
